Al Safa Park

Al Safa park is huge, it has about five play gyms, boat rides, train rides, ice-skating rink. They also have themed gardens, Japanese, old-style English etc. Takes a couple of hours to walk around the whole area, and it reminds us a bit of Central Park because the city is the back-drop, as seen in the last picture. In keeping with Muslim culture, they also have ladies-only sitting gardens.

Some pics from yesterday

Just a few pics from yesterday. Girls had another cooking class at Peekaboo, so we had fun playing beforehand for a few hours in the massive play area there. They enjoyed their class again, this time a lot more kids, V and O were the youngest by far but they held their own in the big bake off. Bottom Pic is just a random shot of D, sitting here with Chris, a friend we made last time we were here who has been a regular at our house. Sensationally witty brit and good person who has helped us enormously over here, reducing a lot of our headaches with settling in.

Pic of Atlantis hotel on the palm
You can barely make out the Atlantis Hotel which is located on the far end of the Palm and can be seen here from our frond, its not finished yet but its going to be pretty cool, apparently its the largest water theme park/marine habitat in the world. Its pretty much the same as the one in the Bahamas minus the casinos. I havn't been to that one but Dustin has and says its pretty cool.. so we'll enjoy checking this one out with the girls. Its walking (or swimming if you're into the whole stingray/jellyfish/tiger shark bit) distance from our place.
